Jeremy is a certified public accountant having started his career in private accounting in Omaha for 2 years after college and starting with McDermott & Miller in 2003. Adam specializes in agriculture business planning and taxation, small business planning and taxation, personal income tax planning and preparation, and HUD and governmental auditing. He is a certified public accountant running the audit practice of the firm, specifically low-income housing projects and not-for-profit entities. Jake started working in the industry in 2010 with McDermott & Miller and transitioned with the firm in their merger with Lutz in 2017. Bryan calls Doniphan, Nebraska his home. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in Accounting. Bryan started his career as a certified public accountant in 2009 with Shonsey and Associates and worked for Lutz for 5 years after Lutz’s acquisition of Shonsey and Associates in 2018. Bryan focuses his work efforts in the tax practice with medical practices, individuals and estates and trusts. Robert (Bob) is originally from Clarinda, Iowa and found his way to Nebraska starting in the audit department of Coopers and Lybrand in Omaha and in the tax department of Touche, Ross, and Co in Omaha. He began his career with McDermott & Miller in 1978 and was a shareholder for over 30 years in the Hastings tax department. Bob is a retired inactive certified public accountant and has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Creighton University and a Juris Doctorate from Creighton School of Law. Bob has spent his career helping clients with tax planning and compliance for over 40 years.
Bob was involved in many local boards over his career including Lochland Country Club, Salvation Army, and the Hastings Public Library Foundation. He and his wife of many years, Susan, live in Hastings and have two grown daughters.

Kathy started her accounting career with McDermott & Miller CPA’s in 1981. She received her accounting degree from Hastings College and went on to become a CPA and shareholder in the firm. Kathy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Nebraska Society of CPAs. She specializes in tax and consulting for medical and dental practices, closely held businesses and individuals. She serves as treasurer of Hastings Sunrise Rotary Club.
Kathy lives in Hastings and has 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. She recently semi-retired after 42 years in public accounting to spend more time with her family, but continues to provide valuable knowledge and service to our clients.

Mark brings a wealth of national experience to our team. Originally from Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Mark graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy. He started his career in 2013 with a regional firm in San Jose, California and began with McDermott & Miller in 2016. Mark specializes in non-profit, single audit, construction, manufacturing, compliance audits, and business and personal income tax. He is a certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
In addition to his impressive professional accomplishments, Mark is a devoted husband and father of four. He also dedicates his time to serving as the treasurer of Prairie Loft through his volunteer work.

Danielle is originally from Elwood, Nebraska. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration and German from Doane College and a Bachelor of Accounting from Regis University. Danielle started with Lutz in 2023 after spending 12 years in the banking industry, most recently as the Vice President of Client Services.

Marde comes from the small town of Hyannis, Nebraska. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, a bookkeeping certificate, and is working towards an Associates Degree in Accounting. Marde started with Lutz & Company in 2021. Marde is the heart of our processing department and we couldn’t do everything we do without her.
